Son's truck got broken into at the movie theater yesterday. I think we can DIY the door handle/lock but he said they disabled the alarm, it doesn't beep when he hits the lock button. Now that I think about it maybe they just clipped the horn wires, I'll ask him to check if his horn works. But, anybody have info or details on the handle and alarm common repairs, anything I'm missing? High deductible so we're gonna try to DIY. Really nice truck and I feel bad because he busted his butt to get to the point of buying a nice truck but as far as life lessons go this one is pretty tame so can't complain.

Dang man that is a bummer! I would get online and buy the Jimmy Jammers to put behind the door handle and yes you should be able to replace it your self. Also what they are doing now is jerking the horn cable off through the grill so when they open it it will not honk. When my son had an alarm added to his truck I was questioning the speaker being mounted so far back behind the motor. The shop said to make it harder to cut the wire for noise.
If the horn works then undo the battery cables and let the truck reset and see if that fixes the issue.
