Wife pushes the lawnmower in our household(she likes the exercise of it). Got tired of fighting gas mowers(I know...I know...) over the years and bought an EGO 56v(I think). It's been great. Easy peasy and handles our modest(70'x140') 9800 sq ft of sovereignty with ease. Even when tall.

My dad and a few friends have the Ego and love it, my parent's lot is 1/3ac and he said he can get about 75% on a charge. 2 friends have normal residential lots for the burbs and no issues getting theirs done. I've been looking at them or the Ryobi because I have a 40v battery for my weedeater so would have 2 batteries to be able to use but the reviews are 50/50 so may just pony up to the ego

I picked up a 40volt 20” brushless Ryobi today. Got it home and tried it out on the front yard. We have gotten 4” of rain over the last few days, and I’ve been out of town so the grass is taller than normal.

My 18 volt 16” Ryobi mower could have mowed the grass, but it would have struggled, and I would have had to swap the batteries twice to finish the front yard.

The 40 volt one with a 4 amp/hr battery that I already had did great. Lots more power than the 18 volt, but would occasionally bog down just due to how thick and tall the grass is. The 4 amp/hr battery lasted as long in the 40 volt mower as two of the 4 amp/hr batteries would last in the 18 volt mower. So I put the 6 amp/hr battery in the 40 volt mower, finished mowing the front yard, mowed the side yard, and some of the back yard too and still had 50% charge left.

No regrets so far. Hopefully won’t have any battery problems in the future. Btw, I paid $280 for the mower, battery, and charger from Direct Tools.
