Sorry to side track your thread OP but I called Cobratec - I figured it’s best to go straight to the horse. He told me that all of the raw materials come from the USA then shipped to Chyna. Chyna prepares all of the parts then ships them back here . They are assembled here in Texas. Some of the earlier issues with the knives were due to a company here in the USA that was turning out parts that were of poor quality so they did their due diligence and realized they had to go to Chyna - yes Chyna is doing it for cheaper but they are following CobraTec specs . The Steel is from the US and not crapppy Chyna steel . Super nice man and said if anyone had any questions to please call him. Making my purchase now.Last edited by Bucknaked; 07-22-2024, 11:27 AM.

3 month review! I use this knife everyday and I certainly feel Bucknaked without it. The blade steel is the best I have personally had. The blade holds its edge really well and only needs light touching up even after cutting 1/4” rubber on top of plywood with a lot of downward pressure . This thing will cut the ****e out of you even after a hard days work. It takes a bit to get the bolster lock loosened up but when it does it is a dream. The knife has some heft to it and is built like a tank. I was looking at purchasing more for Christmas gifts but the more expensive abalone , carbon fiber handles use a Stainless blade - I may purchase the abalone for myselfbut imo you just can’t beat the high carbon blade on the $80 units.
