    Feed question

So I’m building a feed trough to put inside my protein pen, for some added variety. I’m looking at cattle cubes, compressed alfalfa, alfalfa pellets, cubes, shredded, smart beets, sweet feed??? What do all use that out of the ordinary?

    Thanks!

Are you going to fill it everyday?

We used to put rice bran in a trough, deer out west loved it. Deer in south Texas don’t like anything but protein and CS

I tried rice bran in SE Texas, they never touched it and it molded within a couple days in our humidity.

I’ve heard of people using sweet feed.

                    We just use protein pellets

If you feed anything other than Moore corn from H-E-B, you ain’t right.

I've had success with sweet feed, cattle cubes and rice bran. If it has molasses in it, good chance they'll eat it. You need to have a way to keep the rain off it though
Trail cam pics are hilarious when they're eating cattle cubes looks like they have a cigar hanging out their mouths
