    What is the healthiest milk?

I am trying to be more health conscious and recently went from 235 to 205 pounds by reducing my sugar, salt and increasing my protein intake along with more cardio.

There are so many options out there with milk these days, not just dairy milk, but almond, oat, coconut, hemp, etc. and I just wanted to see what milk others are using. I have been going with an unsweetened almond milk mainly because it is 0 grams of sugar, but I feel like it has a bunch of other chemical additives. Any good low sugar, low processed milk out there?

I think you are on the right thought track with the chemical and additives to all the non-dairy milk alternatives. I'd rather just trust old cow milk that has been around for almost ever and moderate my intake. All these alternatives that have been designed in a lab, we'll I'm just waiting for the lawyer advertisments to come out on TV with class action law suites like all the others.

For discussion sake, below is unsweetened almond milk versus 1% cow milk.

The almond milk has much less sugar, 1/3 the calories, more vitamin D, and calcium, but less protein.

I have looked into it and it seems like the added sugar is different than natural sugar though -

Milk contains 12 grams of sugar per cup – and that holds true whether we’re talking about whole milk, 2% milk, 1% milk or skim milk.......The key is that the lactose found in milk is not the same as added sugar, which adds sweetness without the nutrients.........Real milk in its simplest form does NOT contain added sugars. It has 12 grams of naturally occurring sugars that can easily be broken down to glycogen and provide your body with the energy it needs to fuel your activity.

Almond milk is garbage. Dairy milk has eight times more protein than almond milk and rice milk, which only have one gram of protein. Coconut milk has 0 grams of protein.
I prefer Fairlife because it has even more protein (13 grams per cup) and more calcium (380mg) and half the sugar (only 6g vs 12g) of regular milk, and no lactose. Gotta hit my daily macros and fairlife is a great protein hack that definitely helps me out.
And the shelf life is better.

Any milk God created that you enjoy. Personally, I wouldn’t drink or eat anything that I had hold my nose to swallow.

I haven’t found an almond milk that tastes good…I only drink 2-3 cups a week but stick with 2%.
