What many on here fail to realize due to their emotional thoughts on hunting styles. Government 101: give them an inch and they'll take a yard.

For my money, it’s more about what should or shouldn’t be allowed to be left on public land, and how that resource is used among the public.

I think public land hunting will always have its issues. Some hunter(s) are always going to be unhappy with rules and regulations on public. My concern is once a new rule/law is implemented on public it could be pushed to be applied to private as well.

I was fortunate to kill a giant in Iowa in 2017. Had zero pictures of that buck. The beauty of the rut paying dividends.

Seems like too many worried about others and too much government to me. How about if you like cameras use them and if you don’t, then don’t. That would make too much sense though.

Have you had a chance to hunt Iowa PondPopper? I’d highly recommend.

Do you really need them ?? Seriously, do you have to have it. I’m not arguing the government controlling us. To me, the cameras have taken the excitement out of hunting. Opening morning, sitting there in anticipation of what might walk out. It’s not there anymore. You already know what’s walking around. You know when and where to be. Im guilty of using them. A buck on my wall is there mainly because of a camera. I knew who he ran with and where they liked to hang out. I put a tag on him one opening morning because of this. Yes, I’m an old fart that’s taken many a deer. The most memorable were the ones that I did my homework and research. Bash me, I don’t care. My hunting days are numbered. Just remember, you don’t need all the fancy things to be successful.

We now live in a world where instant gratification is an addiction and a world where electronic technology has made everything much easier and some cannot function without it.
The hunting and fishing industry is now full of this technology.
How many of us older hunters would have ever dreamed of a day that heat seeking, Thermal imaging scopes, could be legally used to hunt game animals?

ok, but where do you draw that “freedom to use” line? Trail cameras, cell cameras, drones, infrared drones, helicopters, no regulation at all? I mean it’s gotta stop somewhere or we won’t have any wildlife or wild places left.

Someone on here posted a pic a while back of a lone tree next to a waterhole on public ground in AZ, or somewhere, that had two dozen cameras mounted on it.

The same way they enforce banning of night hunting/spotlighting of deer, green cops walk all over private land.

Except without a warrant anything they find is inadmissible in court
