    Small Business Health Insurance Options

Curious what Health Insurance the small business owners on here are providing their employees? I am on my second attempt on getting ahold of BCBS of Texas for pricing and I'm tired of being left on hold. Will be for just 3-5 people to start off with.

    Thank you

We have 8 total and we use United health care. They suck as bad as the rest of them. Just the best price for the level of coverage we want our people to have.

we buy all the employees and he can add his fam and pay for it if he/she wants. $8,000.00 deductible. They can do pretax if they want to add people or extras.

    hope it helps

SIR - I sold business health insurance for over 40 years. Do not go directly to an insurance company. Find an independent agent who can shop it for you - it cost no more to use an agent as going direct to a company. Make sure the agent specializes in medical coverage. If you cannot find an agent then PM me and I will refer you to an excellent agent (I am retired) -

Yes use a agent...there are several pools available that add hundreds of small business owners like you together to mitigate risk and keep costs down.

With my business, I am currently the only employee. The best deal by far I have found is through Texas Farm Bureau which was recommended by others on here in separate threads. I have full healthcare including dental and vision for me, wife & three dependents for ~$520/month. This is significantly less than what my previous employer offered with a PPO plan... and the coverage is better. When I get to the point where I hire a few employees my plan is to refer them to the TFB plans and offer a monthly allowance for them to go get there own coverage.
