Are you serious? I was the best “paperer” around when I was younger! From 1977 to 1980, you couldn’t drive through South Austin without seeing a monument or two of my work. Not only that, once I figured how to Jimmy the toilet paper holders in the bathrooms of all the fast food places on Ben White Blvd. and no longer had to fund my own misdeeds, NO place was safe!

Another thing you won’t believe I did, I made—and occasionally threw—“bread bombs” with friends, most of whom were on the baseball team, featured each year in the pictures I post of our Annual Crockett H.S. 1980 Varsity Baseball Team’s Kick A** Christmas Party.

There used to be a bread bakery (Mrs. Buttercrust, or something like that) on the North side of town that would set their freshly bake bread in tower racks on the loading to await pick-up by the delivery trucks. After the bakery personnel left, we’d grab several armfuls of the freshly baked loaves, shimmy up some sort of 3” or 4” pipe to the roof, then take the doughy, white parts of the bread, roll them up into balls, and “bomb” the car’s passing by. It was great fun.

Total disclosure: I was never a bad kid, but if there was mischief to be made or fun to be had, I was your girl.

I sympathize. I’m about to be down in my back for a while, too.

Reckless Kelly was awesome as always, Shane Smith & The Saints…kinda suck. The best song they played was a Band Of Heathens tune.

Oh well, it was a great day with the family and good friends, with A LOT of cocktails.
