Aerobic Septic Experts - Mosquito Question

I'm hoping someone can offer up some options for getting rid of mosquitos in my septic tanks. They're both full of them. I will admit that I did have a lapse in keeping chlorine tablets in the pump tank but I've remedied that situation.

Can I put mosquito bits or other poison in the tanks/water to kill mosquito larvae and mosquitos?

I dont see how they are getting in there or out. Something is not right.

There isn't anything "air tight" about these tanks or their lids.

I have the same issue and I don’t think it’s a chlorine issue. I’m fairly regular about keeping some in that tube and I still have them.

Just put a little bleach in there won’t hurt a thang

Mosquito Dunks® Each dunk® kills mosquito larvae for 30 days or more. A Mosquito Dunk® looks like a small, beige donut which floats on standing water. As the Dunk® slowly dissolves, it releases a bacterium which is toxic to all species of mosquito larvae. Each dunk® kills mosquito larvae for 30 days or more. Approved […]

Pour some diesel in your pump tank. Should float on top of the water and never get sprayed out.

I use the mosquito dunks in both tanks and it has really helped controlling the mosquito population. No effect on the system as far as I can tell

Any chance the diesel might catch fire if there is a spark/short/ground in the power cables?

I have the granules but was concerned about killing working bacteria. Sounds like it's not a concern.

The granules and dunks don’t kill bacteria, they ARE bacteria. A specific kind of bacteria that feeds on mosquito larvae but is harmless to humans and pets.
