    Way off topic...honey.

So, is there any evidence that eating locally grown honey will increase resistance to allergies in that area? Or, is that just a myth?

It's myth, there have been several studies done. Here's one

Maybe it's psychological for me but, My allergies have almost completely gone since I started(4 years ago) having a couple spoonfuls in my green tea everyday. I used to suffer terribly every spring. Maybe it's the tea.

It might very well help. I wouldn't know a difference, we've always bought local grown, but scientifically there's been nothing to support it.

I agree. A lot of these old wives tales are proven wrong in "studies" but work for individuals. I know if for no other reason honey is great for you. It has tons of antibactiral uses. Love me some honey!

please prove this claim. it is really hard to prove a negative, so we can wait a while.

An older fellow I worked with had a deal where he was selling "local honey" on the side of the road. He sold alot of it. I asked him "what's the deal with local honey" and where did he get his to sell? He told me he bought it locally at Sam's in gallon jugs and bottled it in smaller bottles to sell at his roadside stand. True story !!!!!!! couldn't comment on the alergie thing. He's still out there selling in the Victoria area.

Yea, i think i bought from him before. And it was crap. It was as if he added a cup of sugar to it to stretch it. It was out on the loop by mission valley. Never again.

from 2002. maybe you should keep up with the research as it evolves. we were taught in med school that half of everything we were being taught was wrong. the trouble becomes figuring out which half is right and vice versa.

Honey has been considered an alternative allergy treatment for many years, with many allergy sufferers swearing by its anti-allergenic properties.

this article disproves your earlier bogus claim.

It wasn't my claim. It was an article I posted. If that has been rebuked my apologies.

Man you act like I was trying to snatch someones dream.
