    Heart procedure

Left side catharization Wednesday morning. What to expect??

Hopefully a clean bill of health. Radial or femoral artery access. If femoral, flat time of 2-6 hours. Conscious sedation. Hopefully home for dinner. Good luck

I've had four stents put in. Went up through my groin on each side. Morning surgery and home by dinner time. You'll be sore for a few days and it will look like your junk is going to rot off for a while.

As far as I know he's going thru the radial. I have a calcium score of over 700 and blockage of 72 percent. This was somewhat of a surprise to me. Was scheduled to go back to the doctor in 6 weeks and out of the blue hot a phone call Friday telling me to be at the or at 8:30 Wednesday. Other than that I know nothing.

My first time I had no clue I had an issue. Went to the heart doc for just a checkup and went from the office straight to the ER. You'll be OK buddy.

Got a cardio appointment Wednesday. New doc, don’t know what he’s gonna recommend, but when I went to the ER a few weeks ago that doc, (not a cardiologist), mentioned open heart surgery. At my age, I don’t know if I’m up for that.

Good luck Walker, and I’ll put in one for you.

I’ve had a few done all femoral. Not a fan of radial.

Used to be an overnight trip due to having to stay still. Now it’s a 3-4 observation then out the door.

That dye they use for imagining makes it feel as your insides are turning to fire (from head to toe).

I work in a hospital and have watched and recovered hundreds of heart caths. Do what the nurse says post procedure and you’ll be fine. Hopefully they can use the radial approach. Much less likely to have complications at the insertion site.

Good luck. Hopefully just a couple of stents and you’ll be good for another 100,000 miles.

had a stent put in through my wrist. piece of cake. i was awake through the entire procedure. was talking to the male nurse the entire time. even talked to the doc a few times. i felt him go through my elbow. it felt like a tickle in there. looked at him once and he was covered in blood! kinda weird there for a moment..was the easiest part of the whole deal

Ablation done through femoral no big deal. Sore throat from tubes and tightness in chest for a week or so....take it easy so don't mess up femoral plug.
