With the Spring (Turkey) Hunting season winding down, I headed to the gulf with some oil industry friends & colleagues. We headed offshore in Louisiana to the South Pass area to do some rig fishing. Now let me be totally honest upfront...I spent the first half hour of this trip "chummng" the waters fighting off my "sea sickness", lol! I've fished Canada, Alaska, the Gulf, etc and it's always the same result when i hit the blue water . Once I got my sea legs underneath me...It was game on. We hammered the red snapper and mangrove. The highlight of my day was hooking into and landing a 46" bull redfish. What a thrill of a fight for a few pics before he was tossed back into the sea for someone else to get to experience it too. All in all...it was a great trip and a nice meat haul.
