Sonic burger last night

Wife had a hard day (month's end close in accounting), wanted something quick and easy, they built a new gas station by the house with a Sonic inside .. i have the app on my phone so ordering was easy , paid with apple pay, so all I had to do is go pick it up, and it literally was ready the second i walked in ( they don't have stalls like a regular location)
That was great!

but wait ..... 2 burgers, a fry, a tater tot and 2 large cherry limeade was $26!
Then, we ordered both fully loaded (everything on it), plus my wife wanted jalapenos .. the add on options are light , normal , or extra ... she went for extra!
So she counted them ... there were 4 total !

both burgers had 2 tomatoes each on them and what resembles wilted lettuce , but there was so little of it, it wasn't noticeable ..
needless to say , this is probably the last time we order from them ... the convenience was great, but that was just about it.

we typically don't eat fast food , I usually cook , or we go out .. so this was a bit of a shock for us ... fast food really sucks nowadays...

Sonic is overpriced trash now days. All fast food is overpriced.

I don't do fast food often, but when I do, I do not eat at Sonic. I will stop for a drink, but their hamburgers are awful.

I got one small turkey sandwich (extra turkey) and a drink at schlotzskys the other day and it was $15 and change. Fast food costing as a much as a nice restaurant these days.

Amen. Drinks and cheese sticks only at Sonic. I could never stand their burgers.

Fast food plus everything is overpriced, something has to give at some point. Whataburger by our house was always extremely busy but with the last price increase you can now drive up to the window anytime.

JBone and I drove through New Mexico on a trip last week. Stopped at a Subway on the way out and a Lotaburger on the way back.

Subway was $38.66 for two footlong subs, chips, and drinks. Lotaburger was $35.35 for two burger meals (burgers, fries, and drinks). Nothing special on either one, no additions, deserts, or anything else, just the straight up meals. Nuts.

That Lotaburger was the best fast food burger and fries I've had in a few years though, so it wasn't a total loss I guess.

They have all gotten over priced and it sounds good before hand, and then complete regret afterwards.

Heck, even Taco Bell is ridiculous priced. I used to go there to get a several things and be less than $5. Get the same thing now and its over $15.

Everything has gone up, except for wages.

Everyone needs to be regrounded every now and then. $26 is cheap for two people. My best advice is to never vote for a Democrat. The other side has lots of flaws too, but the Democrats have gone looney tunes. I give them 100% credit for the out of control inflation.

Heck, even if you don't eat out, eating is very expensive now a days!! We grow a lot of our own food, but we've spent a small fortune on our garden too!! I'm still looking for that "break even" point on the garden... It'll be a while though... Greenhouse, new 2-wheel Grillo tractor/implements, 3 wheel hoes, all manner of irrigation equipment, literally tons of soil amendments, fertilizer, bug sprays Freeze dryer, not to mention the John Deer tractor with all those implements... "all to save money by growing our own food!!! Ha Ha!!

I went to taco bell last year, Mama likes lots of the "hot" sauce, so i always go in to order to get enough..
last time i went , they had plexiglass in front of the registers (from covid), and kiosks on the wall ..
3 people standing right there looking at me.. i asked to order as they were just sitting there ... they said .. you got to use the kiosk ..
Well, i don't have my reading glasses, so i told them i can't read it.. they responded "go through the drive through... "

i left , never went back , and will never go back ...

Even Whatabuger has gotten expensive. My wife and I order a double with cheese meal and a single with cheese meal, supersize the fries and drink and it's $27 and change.

I got a burger with bacon and a route 44 cherry limeade yesterday. Was almost 12 bucks .
