Our church had a program similar to the stations of the cross that is a self-guided tour through the last hours of Jesus' life. We have done this for several years and it is always highly attended. This year we added a "Family Night" to the schedule this past Tuesday. It was different only in that the graphic images of Jesus being tortured and nailed to the cross were replaced by static pics of the three crosses. The music was less ominous and the lights were brighter in the sanctuary where this event is held. The first "station" is a ceremonial washing of the hands, and on family night it was VERY moving for me. I took this pic.... This same was repeated hundreds of times Tuesday evening... After standing duty that evening, I came away with a sense of hope that maybe there is a "chance" for us... I witnessed moms, dads, grandma, and grandpa sitting at the various stations reading the guide to their kids and praying with them and over them all evening...
