Penn Battalion ii vs Carnage iii

Does anyone have any experience with either of these rods? I can't decide if I want the 7' HM Carnage or Battalion. I've always just fished Walmart rods so I'm not familiar with these. This is for inshore Venice.


I've got a new Penn Spinfisher vii that will be going on it with 30# braid.

The best cheap rod I have fished is a 7’6” Ugly Stick Inshore Select. It’s a medium action rod but it is on the light side of medium. It is light in hand and sensitive. I like it better than my Kislers, Billy Stix, and Waterloos.

I ended up going with a 7' 6" MH Fast Battalion ii. I may get an Ugly Stick 7' as a back up.

Don’t get a regular Ugly Stick. The Inshore Select is grey with cork handle and doesn’t weigh 20#
