So I found an iPad at our office the other day. Asked around, it doesn't belong to anyone in the office. There were no names or anything on it or anywhere to identify the owner, we called anyone we knew that came in that day and it didn't belong to any of them. We put up signs at the doors telling anyone if you could describe the case, it was yours. No takers. So we gave it 2 weeks, and said if no one came, I got to keep it. It has a password and everything, so we can't access it. What is the process to swipe it clean and start over, reset everything, etc?

I have a service on mine that if lost, they can 'ping' the iPad and it will give its location, it will also take 10 pictures and email them back to the Apple representative. You may want to set the iPad up with the camera facing your business card or something that whoever left it there will recognize. The teams service can also 'nuke' my iPad remotely. Meaning that if there is no chance of recovery they can fry it and it becomes a permanent paperweight.

I found one on a plane several months ago. Apple, the airline, the airport and even the company who had a property sticker on the back we're unresponsive or disinterested in helping locate the owner.
To the OP - plug it into your pc/Mac with and connect to iTunes. Click Restore. It will wipe the device and set back to factory settings.
