    Removing in ground hot tub?

We have to get our pool coping and tile redone and are considering leveling our in ground hot tub and turning it in to more of a tanning deck/shallow water area. We hardly ever use the hot tub and have young kids so we feel we’d get better use out of a flat shallow tanning deck area

    1) Have any of you done this? Do you regret it?
    2) There’s a chance we’ll have to move in about a year. If you were buying a house, would this deter you? Or would you prefer the hot tub?

    Any opinions?

I’ll give you an opinion. We didn’t really need a hot tub either when our kids were younger. Now that they’re all gone, that sucker gets put to use very often.

We have a pool and hot tub, we use the hot tub a ton Nov-April, I enjoy it. Your kids will grow up fast and not need the shallow water area, long term I think keeping the hot tub would be what I did! Just my .02.

Thank y’all. Makes a lot of sense and exactly why I wanted opinions. Trying to not make a short sighted decision!

If your moving keep it, (will save you some money) New homeowners that never had a pool will love the idea of a hot tub.

Surprisingly it’s not much of a cost difference to turn it into a tanning deck vs. just remodeling it. That’s part of what is making the decision harder.

But I’m with y’all…keeping the hot tub seems like the better long term idea
