question for the guys who hunt small lease?

ok guys, those of yall that hunt 500 and less acres, i have a queston for yall. How do yall keep from getting bored? i got to go hunt a 300 acre place in uvalde this past weekend and although i had great time and will go back if invited again, but after riding the ranch for 30 minutes i knew it backward and foward and i was bored, maybe im just spoiled to get to hunt a large place.

I hunted a place this past year that was 117 acres. I got bored a couple of times but I wasn't seeing deer. Just not a big population there. It was free and I didn't have anywhere else close by to hunt besides pig hunting on the Trinity so I happily put up with the boredom.

I hunt 80 ac, 32 ac and 110 ac--and don't get bored. However, I didn't have a sit this year that I didn't at least see deer. Also killed the biggest bow buck I've shot on the 80 ac place, which has only about 40 ac of hunting land--rest is lawn and pasture. I'm only 11 minutes from home, so it's easy to climb down and go home to the wood shop if I get bored.

i understand that situation, cant complain when its free but it seems to me the stand options on a small place are limited i think that what got me so bored.

My family has a place thats 400acres +-. Walk!!! and dont drive, you can sout out new places for pop-ups, etc.... There is so much you dont see when you drive. That will keep you from getting bored

First off if you hunt small acreage. I do on one of my spots... DONT DRIVE ALL OVER IT!!!

I enjoy any time in the outdoors. go set in a blind, or on a waterhole... things roam.

If you blind hunt with a rifle you watch 500 yards in each direction...

If you pop up/tripod/tree stand hunt with a bow you watch 50 yards in each direction...

                    What more do you need?

PLUS you dont have to deal with other lease members....

This. Hunt 320 ac, been in the family for 17 years. I still find neat things (interesting trees, washes, draws, rock formations, and game trails) that I had no idea existed.

Its amazing what is on small acreage if you get out of the truck, atv/utv and actually explore it

just get to know every inch of the place you hunt. I have walked every trail of the 150 acres I hunt and it makes it that much easier to pattern the deer that are there

The only time I have been bored is when I didn't have a lease. No matter how small your lease is, if you can't see the everyday rewards being outdoors brings, you might just be missing the whole point of hunting.Everyday is a new day whether you have 1 stand od 20.
