I spent the last 60 days trying to get into shape, eating better and exercising. I spent 60 minutes yesterday, eating like a Somalian refugee.

I had, in this exact order, Fried Fish, Gumbo, Fried Fish, Nilgai Chili, Fried Fish, Crawfish, Fried Fish, Ribs, Fried Fish.

Wild Game Gumbo was Legit. I don't even know what all was in it, but the fresh jalapenos gave it just the right kick and it was very good and super flavorful.

Nilgai Chili was awesome. Mr. Public, being a good Texan and loving Jesus, don't ruin his chili with beans, so it was perfect. Flavorful and filling.

Crawfish was great. Team MudBugs knows what they're doing and didn't disappoint. My only regret is that I didn't start there.

Ribs were perfect. They were flavorful and had a perfect bite. Pulled right of the bone without falling off or having to be gnawed on. Too bad I was full by the time I got around to eating them.

Catfish....I'm a lover of friend catfish and the Old Farts at Team Catfish Head know what's up. Every time I walked by that tent, I learned about a new medicine someone was taking and I got a boat full of fresh fried fish. I don't know how many pieces of fish I ate, but I know it was the first thing I wanted when I woke up this morning.

I had a great time and got to meet some people I'd always wanted to. Got to catch up with some old friends and meet some new ones and I'm so glad that I went.

Multiple tents serving “Best of…” foods and plenty of great people. Corn Hope being played, kids righting scooters. It was a great slice of Americana…Texas style.
