I'm thinking about buying a Prime as I really like the idea of free strings every other year. But I'd like to hear from those of you who shoot 'em. How's the quality of their strings? And while we're at it, how do you like their bows? Is their customer service pretty good?

I shoot a Prime RVX 36 for indoor and 3D, RVX 34 for hunting bow. They both shoot really well. The draw cycle is butter smooth and it holds great. Shims on the cams are very similar to PSE so you don't have to press and disassemble to shim a cam. The RVX has a pic rail on the front for the pic mount sights and they added adjustable let-off on the mods. They are a draw length specific mod. however, 99.9% of people are never going to change their draw length by more than a half inch unless you're young and still growing into it. I still have the stock strings on my target bow and they have held up great. I shoot somewhere around 700-800 arrows a week and they hardly show any wear. If you're in the Houston area, Saddle River Range in Conroe has a few in stock you can shoot. If you want more specifics on the bows shoot me a message and I'm happy to chat with you about it.

That's a pretty good review. I appreciate it. I'm open to several different brands but really considering an Elite or a Prime pretty heavily. Hard part is there aren't a lot of places near me (WTX) that have left-handed bows in stock that I can try out. Gonna swing by Cinnamon Creek and Scheels when we go to Dallas in a few weeks.

Between my oldest son and I we shot I think 4 different Prime bows. We would eventually put custom strings on all of them. More to do with doing a lot of shoots in the rain... which causes the strings to wear out faster. That said the factory strings were good. I would not say as good as set of well-made custom string though. Sometimes there would be slight changes with them over time, but nothing major. I mean if we are talking more Texas style hunting of 30 yards and in, they are more than fine.
