Spent three hours yesterday bank fishing on the Llano River. Those Guadelupe bass (the state fish of Texas) are small, but they have really bright yellow eyes. Catching and releasing.

Travis is full of them...

I read that TPWD has stocked the Llano River with Guadelupe bass, that they were once considered a threatened species, and that Guads prefer the edges of swift moving waters, which was where I caught these. I'm no expert, but I know they are not largemouth. Maybe by next year, they will have grown bigger. They loved the Berkely Tequila Sunrise power worms.
