I gathered that much. With intel indicating that Russia has or is developing a nuclear type of weapon capable of destroying targets within earth’s atmosphere, the SHTF starts looking more and more like an EMP. In which case neither the satellites nor the servers used for LoRa will work.
at that point HAM radios stored in a cage would be the only tech capable of communications
am I right?

Meshstatic uses radio frequency like a ham radio.
granted, what i see is relegated to text thru the mesh app.
working on distances now…may be able to get 10 miles or so?Last edited by Death from Above; 02-19-2024, 08:59 PM.

Here is a link to a video with additional information… https://www.youtube.com/live/boKh_0F...0xVpAVPM5IJTsD
a member of the ham club I am in has been talking about the meshtastic and sent this out a couple of weeks back… the system works on unlicensed ISM band of frequencies from 902 - 928 MHz…. The limitations on these frequencies is that the power is regulated to very low wattage… at the frequency range it almost becomes line of sight… better than nothing for sure especially if cell service goes out…
personally, I have used buckeye brand cameras that work on this range of frequency and we had a network with nodes that were 45 + miles away using directional high gain antennas. This was out in the sticks with little to no interference from other devices running the same frequencies. Obviously range will be different in urban type areas where there are potentially a lot of devices being used.
