    Window replacement. Who to use?

I'm getting ready to see about replacing the windows in my house. Any recommendations? Average price?

If you thought plumbing was a sticker shock, wait until you see windows.

We did Pella about 7 months ago. Reasonable and installers were very good.

This house still has the OG single pane builders windows. I'm looking for more energy efficient ones. I'm trying to get this house in shape for the kids when I'm gone.

Get multiple estimates and make sure they are responsible for interior and exterior damage...

You might wanna research the fallacies of replacement windows as being a ‘energy efficiency’ upgrade before spending lots of coin and ending up being worse off.

Like all things in life, there is a right way and a wrong way, and most replacement companies are doing it on the latter side.

We used Clarity, DFW, and best investment we ever made on house. I have 30 windows and was $10,000 or $11,000 range but that was couple years ago. Original price was $14,000 wife said what if we sign and pay now and offered him price he said let me call the boss and they said yes. It was "off season" winter months. Double pane, low E, argon, single hung tilt in vinyl and no grills in panes we live in the country and like our open views. Our AC bill was literally cut in half over old aluminum windows

I have no idea who we used about 20yrs ago but the windows have a life time warranty. I've used the warranty 3 times. Broke a window and they sent me the entire sash. Just popped the new one in. Had 2 panes fog. One was a tall part of a bay window the other as a bedroom slider. They only sent the glass panels and I replaced them myself.

If you plan to pay cash, I would talk to some local remodel contractors, who can probably get pretty much any brand of windows.
If financing, you will probably need to find a bigger company that’ll offer that.

If you get a bid you think is high, call Renewal by Andersen and get their quote. It will make the first one seem cheap lol.

if you are in the greater San Antonio area, shoot me a PM and I would love to quote your window project.

Hmm…first the new door color, now new windows? Sounds like you’re getting things gussied up. I wonder why?

Gussied up! It’s been a while since I have heard that term being used. Love it!
