Entering the new vehicle market. Going back to a 4Runner for the Boss Lady. Any dealership suggestions in the greater SETX area? Thanks in advance.

Toyota 4Runner dealership recommendations

There are very few car dealerships that I'd wholeheartedly recommend, but Tejas Toyota is one dealership that I have bought multiple Toyotas from. They have given me a good price, done everything they said they'd do and has the best service department of any new car dealership that I have ever had any experience with. Even bought a used Toyota from them, and they did the service on it too... Warrantied some serious electrical work that in reality should have not been warrantied. I took the car to them to fix the problem. I knew it was operator error, but they told me they'd take care of it... It was a case of installation of aftermarket equipment that shorted out the whole dash wiring harness... Went to pick it up... NO CHARGE... fixed under warranty...

From what I have read, 4 Runners change design for 2024. You need to decide if you want a 2023 V6 leftover or not. 2024 will also bring a new redesigned Landcruiser and Lexus GX 550. I decided to keep my 2017 Highlander AWD with 8 inch ground clearance since I have no place to go off roading.
I would email Jerry Reynolds, The Car Pro at his website . He is very helpful, and his radio show, podcasts, and newsletter are free, informative and entertaining. He has a list of recommended dealers.
I would also check out Bruner Toyota in Early. They service my Highlander, with quick reasonably priced service, although I did not buy my Toyota there.

The best I could find was $1,600 under MSRP. I flew into Columbus, OH and drove it home. All the ones in the SE were thousands over MSRP.Last edited by GA Bowhunter; 02-15-2024, 07:22 PM.

From last year:Toyota 4Runner Prices - TexasBowhunter.com Community Discussion Forums
Around here most dealers at $6k worth of junk to the price.
The junk is actually added by Southeastern Toyota Distributors, they distribute to the dealers.
One add on is $699 for two oil changes and paint/interior protection.
They did the same crap 40 years ago when I sold Toyotas.
It's a pure scam. That is why I hate Toyota.
You would think the Toyota company would stop them. I guess the japanese threw honor out the window in 1941.
Luck may have turned. I found an SR5 in Magnetic Gray Metallic with black interior (that's what the wife wants). I wanted 4x2 and it's 4x4. They have a $1,600 dealer discount on it ($40,974 dealer price), so it's about at 4x2 MSRP.
It's $550 miles away so I would fly in and drive home and get it done in a day.
I talked to the salesman, and he is supposed to email me an order. Should be in in late April. They stuck to the deal. He put a $249 paint protection on the paperwork but I asked him to remove it and he did.
$500 down and a certified check for the balance when I pick the truck up. They are only 5 minutes from the airport so I'll call him to pick me up when I land.
This truck is only $234 more than the MSRP on the same truck I tried to buy this morning that the dealer added $9,000 to when I called.
So for $234 more I have a set of all-weather floor/cargo liners and 4x4.
I do have to fly in and drive it 550 miles home. The good news there is I'll be driving past a Blazer in Kentucky I've had on the down low. I'll stop by and take a look at it.Flew up to Columbus, Ohio yesterday to pick up the 4Runner. The dealer stuck to the deal as agreed. They were great to deal with.
The salesman, Islam, was a super nice guy and insisted on going over the entire vehicle with me even though I was itching to hit the road. Got home just before dark. It was a 628-mile ride (after 2-1/2 hours of sleep Friday night).
Had to wash the bugs off today. I didn't want to give the wife a dirty 4Runner.
