    baiting with cottonseed ?

I've seen it be successful on West Texas mule deer. What about for whitetail?

With the price of corn going up like the federal deficit, how does cottonseed hull compare?

cottonseed hull has little nutrtional value, its mostly filler. Cottonseed itself has good nutrtional value (protein) but its more expensive than corn is right now. And likely will only go up on the backside of this pee pee poor cotton crop.

You also can't feed cottonseed during antler growth.

Cottonseed is awesome, seen the results. Just very expensive now. Antler season is the best time for it with its high protein content

hmmm seems there was a period of the year that you couldn't feed it, but I don't remember the reasoning and apparently am mistaken on the period.... I'll research and get back...

Typically you would only want to stop feeding cottonseed in late July and August (in a pen or small enclosure). If fed in large quantities this time of year it can make a buck sterile - but is highly unlikely in a free range or large high fenced ranch.

Whole cottonseed is what you want if you looking for protien. It is about $350 +/- for a ton. Doubt you will find it any cheaper, as all the ranchers where buying it up for thier cattle.

They say you should stop feeding before breeding season, and start back up after. It supposedly can make them go temporarily sterile.
