    Trailer advice

Looking for a 32-35’ gooseneck for tractor hauling and other farm use. Have lots of experience with deck-over’s/flip over ramps but been looking at the lower-height car hauler style. Any input or advice on these type trailers for what we’re doing?

    what capacity do you need?

Looking for 16-20k, would probably run 17.5 tires if it’s a single wheel axle.

There is a place here in Caldwell that sells several different brands of trailers. I bought a Diamond C 24 foot gooseneck late last year, customized the way I wanted it down to the color. PM me if you want the info.

Texas pride trailers. In Madisonville will build you exactly what you want.

I loaded a tractor on one the other day that had the tilt bed and no ramps. If I needed one, that is the way that I would go. I have a car hauler now and the dovetail is a pita as any little entrance with a slope ends up with the dovetail gouging the pavement.

Those tilt beds are nice, but not in the budget right now. Our ranch road in Sonora is pretty rough but a minivan can make it so I’m pretty sure a lowboy would be fine.

I have a 24 foot low bow with dove tail and it's been great. With the dove tail I can load my tractor with no ramps, just use the bucket to lift the front tires. If you go this route make sure to get drive over fenders. I have pulled 3/4 ton diesels over the fenders on mine.

I’m not sure where your located. I bought mine from The Trailer Guys in Halletsville. They were the cheapest I found

Diamond C makes nice trailers but be prepared to pay for that kind of quality. In the trailer world you get what you pay for..

Not a fan of texas pride. I would just be careful.

I have a drive over fender style which i think you are referring to. Its a 26ft 7K axle. If i bought another one i would go 28-29 and 10K super single axles.

32-35ft just gets real long. What else are you hauling besides tractor that you need the length?

Ive got a flatbed 32ft and it rarely gets used.

My 2 most used trailers are the 26ft drive over and i have a 18ft Tem Trail tractor hauler trailer.
I would buy another tractor hauler style trailer in a heartbeat they are 96in inside with pipe rails. They are wide! and only can be registered as farm use but dang handy. I would buy a 22ft triple axle if i had to do over again in that style. But the 18ft has served me very well for the price i paid for it.

Great input, thanks! We're hauling a 5075E with a 6' mower and a disc, bucket, forks, fuel/tool skid and some materials. I mapped it all out and measured and 32' is the minimum I could come up with. The 10K super singles are what I'm wanting if its not a dual tandem, I'm buying used so Im trying to keep my options open.

On your tractor hauler, can the sides be removed so you can side-load pallets/lumber?

Ah gotcha. Yea if you got a long haul and need all of that then makes sense. Really a drive over fender triple axle is probably the best way to go for you. 10K super axles are hard to come by. Other concern i would have is everbody has parts for 7-8K axles. Not near as many 10K axle parts at random places.
Also with duals or triple axle you can limp her into town to get a tire fixed or spare swaped. Not as easy with singles. Being able to have both side load a car hauler/drive over fender style trailer is a great advantage. I think you would be happier with this style then a flat deck float.

No on the removable sides. Those trailers are really meant to put a tractor on and road a baler, Rakes, sprayer etc behind on the ground. Not ideal for long hauls.

I can tell you my 26ft like this gets used way more than any other trailer i have. Just due to the utility of it.
