    Kelley Blue Book, NADA, etc.??

Are the used truck values being produced by these entities outdated, irrelevant, obsolete?? I am thinking about selling/trading my current truck and going back to a F150 because I rarely pull/haul big loads anymore and it just makes the most sense with two daughters turning 16 in few months and needing to find them a ride.

I ran the figures on KBB and my truck is showing to be supposedly worth around $10,000-$14,000 more than what I was just offered at a dealer. I know you take a beating at a dealer most times on your trade but this much??

Perhaps no one really puts much faith in the online appraisal sites anymore but wanted to get your thoughts. For what it is worth, I am considering selling/trading a:

    2019 F250 XLT, crewcab, 6.2L gas, 52K miles, FX4/4x4, spotless.

Dealers go off of NADA usually. Which NADA is lower than KBB. NADA does not alot of times have the selection for certain equipment or packages that KBB does. It is terrible.

I would try entering your VIN into a place like Carvana. I think they might give you a better value.

I used Carvana, Carmax, Vroom and one other I can`t remember. I tossed the highest and the lowest offer I received and went with the middle when I went to trade. They offered a thousand less than what I could sell it for somewhere else, but I didn`t budge and they finally gave what I wanted. This was 9 months ago, and the used car marked it much different right now.

I also recommend checking with Carvana, Carmax, Texas Direct Auto, etc. These places often provide a quote that is somewhere between Private Party and Trade-in. If you have a Carmax location near you, they will inspect your vehicle and have a number to you within half an hour. Low pressure, free of charge. Your quote is good for a week. Not to mention, check the websites for these services and see what similar Trucks are priced at. Don't forget you also get a sales tax on the trade in amount if you trade in the vehicle at the same dealer you are purchasing. Not a huge deal, but that can be worth a couple grand and should be weighed against other quotes and private party sale. If you have a lot of after market add-ons, you probably are best to sell private party to recoup the most value.
