How much are spring turkey hunts?

I googled a few (two pages worth) Geez. Are people really paying $1,400+ for a weekend hunt/per hunter for a turkey or two?
Or are my search results just giving me high dollar ones? Some were $2,200 per hunter Only saw one that appeared cheap but then added in day rates and it was $1,500

The prices I have seen are about what you are seeing. Thats why I dont do them, really would love to, but just cant justify it.

Hell, I've got turkeys and I'll pay for a hotel and cook a steak for that price.

Id probably pay $600 for weekend access to a place that had a good population. No guided needed or wanted.

They advertise for a reason. The reasonably priced ones don’t need to advertise. There is not much public land in Texas and people want a guided experience and that will cost money. I hunted a place for 18 years that was $300 per weekend for up to 4 birds, but offered no amenities. With over a grand, you are paying for amenities and guiding time.

I was just looking at websites. Or are you saying the cheaper priced ones don't even have websites? If you see a non or semi guided hunt for less than $1k per hunter (including lodging) please post it up.

My brother sent me pricing yesterday from a friend's ranch that sells turkey package hunts near Ozona.

$2500 per person, includes 2 birds, meals and lodging for 3 days/2 nights. Additional birds are $500. Excludes alcohol.

He said they have a "few more slots left to fill" (mostly weekday) so it sounds like there are people willing to pay that price.

I hope those meals are lobster and wagyu ribeyes! That's more than I'd pay for a hill country buck hunt. I guess inflation finally hit hunting prices..or were they this high last year also?

Some might pay that I’m sure, but the average guy won’t. I know I won’t, and I love turkey hunting. That’s one of the things I miss the most about not having a lease where they are abundant.

Inflation hit the hunting scene a long time ago....

Good grief! At that price or a little more, I'd rather have a lease for deer and turkey

Tim, years ago when I looked, $500-$700 was the norm for a weekend hunt, no guide, no lodging, and no meals. I refused to pay that kind of money for a bird. So I started hunting turkeys out of state. First trip was to Oklahoma and the last few trips have been in Kansas, all on public land. Been having a blast when I can go. Due to my line of work, I miss some years. This year I may have a short window to run up to Kansas for bow season only, but this year it’s all draw. Deadline to put in is tonight, so I guess I better get it in lol!!!

Will trade a fully guided turkey hunt for a trophy elk hunt out west! No low ballers, I know what I have 😀

If you look you can find reasonable places to lease for the season or weekend for basically a trespass fee. Knocking on doors to bird hunt is a lot easier to get permission than it is for deer.

a lot of places will be in the price range of 2500+ for guided hunts. Only way I’d ever pay that is maybe a Gould’s or ocellated in Mexico.
