It is also our anniversary so we have reservations at Perrini’s steakhouse in Buffalo Gap.

There are only two of us here, and we may actually watch the game this year. Pro football isn't the main draw but we do sometimes get a hoot out of the advertising. Half-time show is a no go. I'm considering making some kebabs using beef tenderloin. The food will be cooked early in the game and be gone before half-time. Honestly, it doesn't matter if I miss some of the game to cook. What happens in the kitchen has much more importance that what happens in the game.

We'll have Jalapeno poppers, tamales, boudin, and a couple different dips I'm sure. I'm not sure what else everyone else will bring though. We'll have probably 12 people, but food for 50 people. We typically do a bunch of finger foods, maybe some ribs or links. I'll be eating super bowl left overs for lunch next week for sure!
If you live around Lumberton or Winnie, Yellow Rose Meat Market sells some delicious premade poppers and some pretty good boudin. I go there all the time for that and their stuffed pork loin/chicken breast. You can also order "Maverick Magnums" which is pan sausage wrapped in some kind of noodle, then wrapped in bacon... They are pretty good! My office buys a bunch at a time and will cook those and poppers for customers at lunch and learns. They seem to be a hit every time too!.. This is food for thought for anyone in the area that is busy Saturday and Sunday like I am.
