    F250 "light duty"

Saw one of these the other day, thought it was an F150 but did a double take. Had an F250 badge and 7 lug wheels. I thought it was some kind of custom truck, but looked it up as an F250 light duty. Interesting for sure. Does/has anyone own(ed) one of these?

Is 98 the only year they made these? Did any come with the 7.3? Is it closer to a half or three quarter ton?

I had an 81 F250 light duty 3/4 ton. It did have 8 lug wheels but the brakes were a little different than the heavy duty.

In 1999 all 3/4 tons became Super Duty models.

my buddy had one for 10 years. He has 1700 ac with a ton of cows so I guess it was a capable truck.

I've never heard of such a thing.

I did drive a F-250 work truck that had a manual transmission and came from the factory with a surprisingly wimpy V-6 gas motor. This was a mid 90's model and the company I worked for at the time had 3 or 4 of these. They were major turds and had no power, I couldn't believe such a thing was ever made...

I would assume these were made for fuel economy, but they got worse mileage than the V-8 powered models that the company also owned. Major FAIL!!!
