MLD Harvest Option for Dummies...??

Anyone have a definitive answer on these questions:

Does going MLD Harvest Option remove antler restriction requirement?
Are the tags based on the MLD Harvest Tag Estimator website? Or is that just an estimator and the county biologist tweaks it?

I looked into this myself a couple of years ago and decided against it. Sure, you get to hunt til end of February but in east Texas if you aren't careful, shooting a doe might end up being a buck that has dropped his antlers already. It also could limit your buck tags, for instance, to less than your lease membership or limit each member to only one buck tag (tags allotted equals number of members) when current license allows two. Of course, many leases limit their members to only one AR/mature buck anyway.

I drew the boundary on the tag estimator for the place I hunt in Smithville. There are more deer there than at our ranch and the tool came back with 0 buck tags and 2 doe tags. That would be a hard no for that place as we typically shoot 1, maybe 2 bucks and at least 3-4 does and they are still everywhere.
