    CNC Plasma help

Need a little help here, I have been having inconsistent cuts on my table and then today my horizontals cut perfect and my verticals didn't penetrate. Any clue where to start? Click image for larger version

Bad tip usually with those type cuts. A tip with an oblong hole, even slightly, can cause issues in one direction but not another. Have you changed all your consumables? Also speed could be an issue, but it's usually the entire cut not just one way. Tons of variables. What machine are you running?

When that happens to me I check ground, consumables, if the head is a magnetic break away style a solid contact and correct voltage. Other than those I don’t know. I have a hypertherm 85 on an old torchmate and have just about every type of crappy cut in the last 12 years and those are my first checks.

Hypotherm powermax T45v on a spit fire table. The tip has not been replaced in some time, I have all new consumables coming in next week. I have never adjusted the speed so I am hoping all new consumables fixes it. Thanks for the input!

Ground was my thought with consumables too, the connection to the tip has always been a little suspect. Thanks for the input! I am definitely a rookie at this
