Yep but I have a friend that got hammered with it. He was at the rigs out of Sabine Pass and while looking for other fish, caught a ling.

it would not fit in the ice chest so he cut it in half. Obviously it was all one fish but he lost his fish and got a citation.

I haven't had a game warden check my cooler at the coast in the 20+ yrs I've been fishing there. Just sayin'. May just have to turn into a "criminal."

nonsense. Fishing has been much better in Sabine this year than in probably the last ten. yet here we are, dropping the limit for the second time in 5 years.

As to the limit dropping… when the limit dropped from 10 to 5, fishing on Sabine was on a downswing. It was tougher to catch a limit of 5 than it was to catch a limit of 10 a couple years before. That said, this year I could’ve caught a 10-fish limit several times. Fishing is as good or better than it was 10 years ago. There’s absolutely no need to drop the limit to 3. And for folks talking about not needing more than 3 fish to eat, 3 16-inch trout isn’t feeding my family of four. So now if I want to fry some trout I have to make two trips to make one meal. It’s absurd. The majority of folks fishing for trout that I know would rather fry a mess of fish than catch the ocasional trophy. All that having been said, I bet on Sabine at least, this is actually going to have a negative effect. Many more anglers are gonna spend the money and the time and go launch in La and keep 15, myself included. There’s also going to be more people keeping over their limit that used to follow the rules, myself not included, but I won’t really hold it against them.

Some of yall act like you can't eat any other fish besides trout....

I wouldn't mind them keeping the limit to 3 for one more year in the Laguna then going back to 5. What sucks is I highly doubt they will ever go back sure seems like once the take it away they don't ever give it back.

I really like eating trout, and even more so, I enjoy fishing for them more than most other coastal fish.

You and me both that being said there are plenty of other **** good fish in the bay to feed the family. Not being able to keep 2 more fish than usual sure isn't gona keep me from fishing for trout.
