    Need Ranch Manager

    Well our guy got an offer he couldn't refuse. We are super happy for he and his family, that he gets to pursue his passion in bigger and better pastures. So that being said, we are looking for a highly motivated and trustworthy person to take over.

    RANCH MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
    TOLO Piedras Ranch, 2,642 acre high fenced and improved ranch 30 miles east of Cotulla Texas. It was purchased in 2018 out of the historic Herradura Ranch and is a private family ranch for the enjoyment and recreation of family and friends.
    Description:
    • Work on all aspects of running an intensive wildlife operation for dove, quail, turkey, ducks, hogs and deer. Position will include but is not limited to: Daily care and maintenance of all ranch structures including deer pens, fences, gates, water well, water lines, wildlife waterers, ponds and lakes, barn, shop, lodges, ranch house. Maintenance of all ranch equipment including large and small machinery. Maintain and record logs of protein, corn and cottonseed feeders and amount consumed in free choice troughs throughout ranch.
    • Taking care of hunters and guests.
    • Coordination and direction of third-party contractors, supplies, and all aspects of ranch improvement projects.
    • Care and work with six ranch horses and five bird dogs daily.
    • Maintain a working and open relationship with owners and keep them knowledgeable about the ranches dealings · Care and guiding of guests, Airport pick up and drop off. Provide insight and wisdom as to future projects to make things run better · Assess and repair items or inquire and alert owners of options to fix broken or disrupted items · Provide feed and water for wild game animals, horses and hunting dogs · Manage lawn care · Maintain multiple vehicles and equipment including UTVs and 4 Wheelers · Maintain barn garage and keep it organized · Maintain annual inspections of vehicles and have them clean with full tank of gas prior to arrival of guests · Maintain all electrical and plumbing equipment on property indoor and outdoor · Operate heavy machinery to keep up infrastructure, watershed areas and the property · Removal of dead brush and trees. Complete pond maintenance. Maintain interior of homes · Prepare for guest arrival, Keep all rooms clean and organized · Complete grocery shopping prior to guests’ arrival · Manage and schedule house cleaning & cooking staff · Manage and schedule for all meals while guests are present.
    • Salary is dependent on experience.
    • Included benefits- 3 bed, 2 bath home with fenced yard, truck and fuel for ranch use, 401k and opportunity for end of year bonus.

    Qualifications
    • College degree preferred but not required. Similar Work Experience a must, Strong organizational skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable guiding hunters, interacting with guests, and cleaning all game. Experience in the wildlife industry. Operation of all types of machinery, tractors and implements. Strong work ethic, must be a self-starter and not afraid of hard work.

                Does not sound like college degree kind of work. More of a lifetime of experience with the vigor of youthfulness.

                      Most ranch manager jobs have pretty much the same description, except the grocery shopping. If you live on the ranch you stay busy all day
