Which Bow Strings for Mathews V3X

There is another thread on bow strings but I couldn’t dig it up. My V3X 29 is 13 months old and came with the Zebra’s. I had a massive string stretch issue with them last summer which really messed me up. I will say that I shoot a lot and did so through the heat of last summer , I keep my string waxed and keep my bow inside ( climate controlled room) . The string started fraying badly towards the end of the summer and to say I am Not impressed with Zebra’s at all is an understatement. Now my lot of shooting means 5-6 rounds with 6 shafts per round daily average which I don’t think that in reality that’s very much for Most Avid archers but it is for me. I’m searching for the highest quality strings I can get - no stretch with no waxing if possible. My tech swears by Gas strings but I have seen a lot of negative reviews on them. Gas is a large company where QC could be the issue.
I don’t want to offend any users of any strings but I’m on a quest for the best

Please don’t be afraid to post up which string you have gotten the best performance and life out of .

    TIA

Using AAB on the recommendation of my local shop. Ive had them for 1 year now and no noticeable stretch. So far Im pretty happy with them on the V3X 29. Changed out the Zebras about a month after I bought the bow.

I’ve run Gas on 2 Hoyts previously, and have no complaints there either.

I have twisted X. Very little peep training needed. I have had gas strings as well.

I had some serious peep rotation on my V3X with the Zebras before the 2022 season, like three weekends before, or right at two actual weeks.

I’ve been using 60X as replacements for several years at the suggestion of Gerrit Murray who was with Santa Fe at the time, and never had an issue with them.

They got them (and a set for my wife’s Prima) to me less than a week after I ordered them and Richard from Texas Archery/Now Outlaw had them in and ready to go two Fridays before season started. Everything is still as it should be with both sets. Both were custom colors so they probably didn’t have the sets built when I ordered them.

I have no reason to change at the moment so when and if I need a new set, I’ll go back with 60X.

I've used Threadz on the last 3 bows I've had. Excellent performance

Good topic. I was curious what to go with when the time comes. I shoot a lot, all year except when it's triple digits and 90% humidity lol. I have the v3x 29 also, still have original strings on it with no issues. This was my 2nd season with this bow. I use On Target Archery and will check with them soon, or at least this summer!

I have gas on mine, and I would not recommend them, while the peep has held true there has been some premature wearing of the serving in some areas, and their customer service is not fun to deal with.

Yes Sir, I’ve been reading the same thing on their reviews.

I just replaced the stretching zebra strings on my V3x with gas. Didn’t go with the ghost just the regular set. Picked up 2 feet per second and a lot more solid feeling.

My peep was rotating like crazy with the zebra and no issues since the swap to gas.
