    School closing

Insane DFW area schools are cancelling school tomorrow because it’s too cold. Roads are in great shape, drove 200 miles all over DFW. What’s next, it’s too hot?

I’m m up north of Dallas and it’s been cold, but you’re right the roads are fine. What’s funnier is I’ve seen some friends in Deep South Texas posting their schools are closing … their highs are in the 40s !!

It is sometimes related to kids having to wait on buses in dangerous temps. I'm not sure that's what's going on, but it is something school districts with a lot of bussed kids consider.

Lindale schools are closed tomorrow. High today 19. Hasn’t been above freezing since Sat night. Roads were a little slick yesterday. I didn’t go out today. I wouldn’t want to drive a school bus in this mess.

Just takes a little moisture to ice bridges. Nothing is more important than keeping the kids safe.

Dry as a bone here, drove from Irving to Bonham, at or above speed limits. Understand if we had ice, but we did not.

It`s a Snowflake world we live in. People are soft.

Threat of ice with buses. All it takes is someone getting hurt or killed. People are too sue happy nowdays. Definitely not the 80s when you had school and still played games in a little ice, snow, and cold temps.

While I generally agree with you and my kids' school are still open as of right now, I think the problem is tomorrow there is a greater possibility of ice due to the melting of all the snow today. While it is mostly dry, it only takes one spot that didn't get sun today, but snow melted and now you have an ice patch. I personally think tomorrow's commute will be worse than today's. Today was easy and dry. All that being said, if they cancel my kid's school tomorrow I'll be disappointed.

With that logic, we cancel when it rains. DFW did a great job prepping roads. But saying it’s “too cold”, come on!

The schools are closed in our area. It is currently 25 degrees & ice on the roads.

Our ISD just posted it will be opened at the decision of the parents, as it should be.

It's because of ERCOT and our insufficient power grid. **** Obama.....
