Catching Someones Dog In A Coyote Trap

Anyone ever caught someones dog in a coyote steel trap? I would hate to catch someones dog but want to trap a few yotes, cause....I like trappin
and If you own the property someones dog should not be on it. Opinions?

You answered your own question. It's a risk you take and a risk the owner of said dog takes by being irresponsible.

Their dog should be on their property. If you trap it...well SSS.

my dog was caught in a leg trap.

i went to open the gate at my deer lease and let my dog go to the bathroom. someone set a trap next to the front gate.

he went to yelping. i thought he had caught a rabbit and was killing it.

if it's your property, that means it's YOUR PROPERTY.

It would probably be a good idea to make sure you set it well inside the fence line. The farther in the better. Makes things less complicated should the dogs owner complain. Just remember they are someone's pet, and considered a member of a family. I think most everyone on this sight knows how hunting dogs can get on a scent or get into things.

The s.tx ranch has signs on the hf warning about animal traps and some legalese about not being responsible for pets/animals being caught in them

Caught my neighbor's dog in a live trap--no harm done. Caught a few neighbors' cats in live traps and Conibears as well--

Be very carefull. It will not matter wheather you have all of Texas Laws on your side. If as i have seen, some dog owners go ape s**t over their dogs, at fault or not. Some of this guys love their dogs as much as they love their children.

Remember Alfalfa from Spanky and the Little Rascals". He got shot and killed over another guys dog...where the dog owner did not like how Alfalfa reprimented his dog. An arguement started, and Alfalfa lost the arguement.
