Mr. Bailey with Texas Big Game Pursuits was friendly, upbeat and passionate about putting guests on a great hunt. Very straight forward on pricing, animals offered and dates available. When I arrived at the property he was ready to go over stand assignments, paperwork and rules of the ranch. Once he pointed me to the blind he even offered a heater to keep the blind warm. Once in the 4-6’ rifle blind with good windows, solid floor and a comfy chairs I set up. He had already sent me a map of feeding/feeders so getting ready for a shot angle was easier. As the evening hunt went on I saw lots of dove, a few neighbors horses and cows and the local wildlife. At prime time 5:45… just as the owner said, out came the deer. First a beautiful 8 main frame point that would score around 130 B&C followed by his harem of 5 does. Once they fed around the stock tank and ambled off into the field I set up for a shot. Once I confirmed I had a nice mature doe in my sights I fired, watched the doe go down in sight and then tagged her. I called Matt, the owner, and let him know I was in route with the doe and he went to work to set up his cleaning area. He had the gambrel, rope, light and tools already out and ready to go. I certainly appreciate an affordable, ( under $250 for a doe) honest and reliable hunt in this day and age. Between the price and quality of animals I highly recommend Texas Big Game Pursuits and would love to return sometime. Appreciate it. That is my 3rd deer in the freezer so we have plenty of meat now. Bucks are $600 plus the day fee. Unfortunately buck season has come and goneLast edited by J Loves Huntin; 01-10-2024, 07:04 PM.
