Well that’s a deer season wrap for where I hunt my friends. The Lord blessed me with another year of great hunting camps and even greater hunting partners.
The older I get the more I reflect back on the time spent and people I spent the hunts with rather than the animals killed………..but understand, I still like killing!
Early October found me in a rare spot after missing what would have been my largest scoring deer to date the evening of October 5th. It made the rest of my October sits pretty tough. Being humbled sometimes is a hard pill to swallow. If were not for some of the greatest news ever, (going to be a grandpa) then I might have had to be entered into a mental health and rehabilitation ward........
November rolled around and a few new bucks showed up along with a rare two-sit sighting of the deer I missed. This was the last sighting/pictures I captured of the buck.
December hit with a blur and my mind set went from holding out for the missed buck to killing.
Most of my hunting this season was done in Sabine, McLennan, Bosque, Tom Green and Schleicher Counties.
Hope all had a great season and to the extended season hunters, best of luck!
I have posted some of the 2023/24 kills below and feel blessed to have had the opportunities. Breck and his buddies are still crushing ducks, so I’ll add a few of those pics later.
Hope each enjoy and God Bless.
Had a blast hunting with Breck, his time was so limited with his college football schedule this year, but he made the most of it.
Sorry for the Sabine National Forest hog kill pic, but it was sure good fried up.
Late October Management - No Brow 6
Mid November Old 8 with character.
A Big framed 8 with flyer I had lots of history with, he probably needs his on thread. He was 8/9 years old by photo history.
My last Saturday of the season kill. Another buck I had lots of history with, he was 6 years old.
Again, hope each have had a blessed season.
