    I love scouting new properties. Came up on this tree when thoroughly scouting the 100 acres that I'll be hunting next season for the first time. They've been going to town on this tree!

                  Some may believe it but there was a magnolia tree that had scrapes and rubs on it for 30 plus years about that same size until that freak hurricane/storm came through in 2005. A couple of other spots were always good for scrapes and rub lines but that storm mentioned above that dropped all the trees around these said spots ceased activity in the immediate areas. It took us a couple of seasons to find where their new routes were in these areas. They were in the national forests off of old logging roads that paralleled the more recent logging roads or old house places.

                  Op,
                  looks like a good spot after you get your cameras and scouting done. Hopefully you will not have others that have been in the area. Because that tree stands out like a beacon of a rub line no doubt.
