Have a deposit on a Drahthaar pup. It’s been 15 years since I trained one. Are there any newer books or programs I should consider before I begin training?

i had a very versatile GSP prior, but she just couldn’t tolerate cold weather waterfowl.
this is the litter I’m getting. It’s an A litter, but both parents look to be phenomenal dogs. The female was top 10 in her VGP and the owner didn’t even attend planning to run her, he went to observe and decided last minute since he was there to let her go.

It's a wonderful breed & arguable the most versatile especially if you get one that loves to retrieve well (for me anyway)...ours is going through what they are pretty sure is liver cancer. She'll be 11 this valentines day & is happy, not feeling sick & eating good, but the cancer is causing uncontrolled weight loss & 'looks' horrible. We made the decision we'll chug along and as soon as she shows any signs of suffering the call will be made. We waited too long putting Narco down.
Our next dog will be another Vizsla...much as we love the DD, they are rough inside dogs w/ the shedding & dripping water all over the house & your lap. If I get to the point where I get to dedicated outside dogs, it will be a dd for sure.

Just not really a Texas friendly breed. Nights in a Pan Handle hotel picking briars out of it's coat till my fingers bleed.
Pulling stinky fur out of it's ears.
Dripping water from it's beard just everywhere.
A Visla is a miniature Weimerainer. We have raised and hunted 3 pain in the back side girls. Good luck sir...
