    Why is it?

Seems like this Winter has been awful for my huntin time. Nice days during the week but come the weekend the dang wind is blowing 175 miles an hour or pouring rain. Son of a gun man. Being inside drives me absolutely bonkers. This ain't the place to be if you don't like high winds. And I do, I sure do. Wish I was out shootin coyotes today.

It's always that way though. All the nice days get wasted on work. Bummer........

Who else ain't had good quality days to go huntin this season? Couldn't bow hunt in this that's for dang sure. It'd shake a person out of the tree.

Been too warm to suit me and too many winds with an eastern component in them. I don’t have any stands for an eastern anything wind.

I could go coyote calling today I'd just have to call every 200 yards. I don't know how hard it's blowing but it's brutal. I had to go out earlier and the wind caught the front door and almost ripped it out of my hand. It's a little breezy. Supposed to be for the next three days. If it's warm and windy I can go look for snakes. They're all denned up snoozin right now. Windy days make me feel like snoozin too.

Bad hunting weather is just one of the many reasons God created women Austin. Just sayin.

Not sure where you are, but here in SE Texas we NEVER have a W or SW wind, so all out stuff and accesses are set up appropriately.

This whole season seems it has been W. Was going to hunt this next week, and darn near the whole week, W.

          i feel your frustration.

That's a super expensive hobby. Especially if she pops a few kids out. Then I'll be selling all my huntin stuff. I'll stick to coyote huntin.lol

When I hunted near Ballinger, about the only winds we set up for were SE winds. If a norther blew in we were out of luck ! Here in East Texas i’m good for N, NW, W, or SW. That usually covers it, but not this year.

Hunting the panhandle, the wind almost always howls. I’ve gotten used to having to adjust to it. Animals are used to the wind and move almost as good as it being still. Just a little more wary.
the rain, I agree with you. I can’t get to my place if it rains too much. Roads become slick as snot and ain’t worth the trouble. Rain has cancelled more than one set of weekend hunt plans this season.

but that’s the way baseball go.

Pretty much always. I actually just got back inside. The fence gate blew down so I had to go out there and fix it. That dang wind, that's about all it's good for. Tearing things up. I'm sure it don't bother the animals too much really. I just don't enjoy it. Takes a little more get up and go power to want to get out in it and do anything.

Two weeks ago it rained for two solid days and a night. The roads are still bad in places. Where I hunt I'd definitely run the risk of getting stuck. Hate to complain about the moisture. It's good for all the critters and stuff. Sure makes it a pain to get out and do anything though.

im anxious to get back out in a few days to see what those rains two weeks ago did to the roads. Believe my place got between 5-6” and I’m anticipating some wash outs to fix or drive around. I’ll never complain about messed up plans because of rain. Flora and fauna, so to speak, need that moisture more than I need to go and hunt.

I think that's what we got here around 5". Snowed for just a little bit that one night but it melted as soon as it hit the ground. I hadn't seen it rain like that in a long time. Don't know that I've ever seen it rain like that in December.

Talked to a dude that lives in Garden City, Kansas last week about it. He said they didn't get a drop of rain up there. That's about an hour from where I'm at. I couldn't believe it, that's crazy.
