    Flying with a bow

    What case are you using?

And what other rules do I need to be aware of?

I have a regular old hard sided Plano one I have had for years. Just make sure everything is strapped in there good and then you have to have those little TSA locks on there. They are cheap and can buy several from Amazon. Never had any issues other than SWA losing my bow for a few days one time. That really put a damper on my hunt but risks you take flying with stuff.

I use my skb case. Locks and zip ties. Add extra zip ties to side of case with duct tape. Write on tape with marked and ask to add zip ties back if they need to cut.
Everything ships inside case straped and packed with bubble wrap in case velcro loosens. No issues. Just check in as oversized luggage and drop off.

SKB. I pack my underwear all around my sight and rest. I figure if they have to open my case maybe I can keep them from touching too much.

SKB double bow case. Just carried 2 bows, arrows and various other things in it to S Africa in August. I’ve flown with my SKB case multiple times and have never been charged for an oversized bag! For that matter, they have never charged me for an extra bag either.

            Once worn or thrice ?

would it be a good idea to remove the sight/sights and pack them in a carry on?

Lakewood bowfile case......I've travelled with it to Canada once, and South Africa twice.
No issues on any of those trips.
