Gas prices have me stumped

Had to get gas so I stopped in one of the Chevron's here in Nacogdoches. Now, gas prices have been pretty cheap, relatively speaking, for the last several months here- much cheaper than most places I have been. But yesterday really had me scratching my head. What you normally see is that 87 octane will be the cheapest increasing maybe 10-15 cents each level you go up to 89 and then 93 octane. Well check this out:



And diesel was $3.25.

Is the 89 ethynol free? If so, that is the reason.

Hahaha, someone had a fat finger when they punched in the amount. Or didnt have their coffee yet.

Too bad it didnt go the other direction and Plus was a $1.83.

Probably hasnt gotten another load of the higher stuff so same high price as when he got that load.

Every time I see ethanol free gas advertised it is higher than the 87 octane.

Sorry, I was looking at the first two prices (left to right) and didn’t even look at the regular price. I think I paid $2.40.9 yesterday. I wish it was $1.31 though !

I am going with data entry error. Years ago I was told there are two grades premium and regular. The in-between is a mix controlled by the pump system to get the blended in-between. I never checked that for accuracy.

Or they're playing games. You see the 87 price up on the sign then push the 89 button out of habit cuz it's not usually too much more...wouldn't surprise me.

I paid $2.89 for premium today in Gonzales and I’ve been paying 3.89-4.20 here in Hallettsville!
