    Brecken Masten in Robstown

I went there to talk about a truck that was on their website. Turned out they had this truck in Houston and not at their dealership.
When I got there knowing we just going to talk about the truck I was looking at on the website, that wasn’t even there. The car salesman had a paper with charges. He had some things on there I wasn’t wanting to pay for. GPS and transportation. I told him could take the GPS thing off because I didn’t ask or want it. I told him I didn’t want to pay for transportation since it was on their website.
He took that off but not before trying to talk me out of it and conceding that it wasn’t my fault the truck that was listed on there lot wasn’t there. He asked me what it would take to get me to buy it. Remember he hasn’t had any money taken off really because these are things that were on his list were dealer charges that are added. I only asked for $1000 off and only the items that were not negotiable like taxes, local and state fees. He said he could move on the price listed. He then acted like he talked to the Sales Manager and came back and said he couldn’t. He said they were number one dealer and I said then you should be able to move $1000 then.
He then asked me again what it would take him to get me the buy this truck, he even said he would drive to Houston to pick up myself. I told him if he was up for a road trip that was on him. I told him all I wanted was $1000 off so I would closer to the asking price for the out the door price.
He acted like he went back on more time. This time on the paper he had with just the two items marked off he stamped “Final deal” and wrote “Take it or leave it”. I asked him if he has ever heard of an internet review before and this also what is called an insult.
So I left a not so good review if google Chris Kiefner review of Becken Masters you can see it.
Today I got an email asking if I was contacted and taken care of. I looked at my wife and said you got to be $h!tt!ng me.
My salesman’s first name was Greg and he was an older gentleman.

When he wrote "take it or leave it", I would have said "stick it" and walked out!!!

Also don’t forget, the truck wasn’t even at that lot to even look at or test drive!

I just had to deal with one of them in austin. Car salesman must be some kind of untreatable viral infection. Every one I have ever met (at a non-luxury dealership) is dumb as a post and way more dishonest

They are owned by Group 1 a massive automotive dealership, I usually skip the sales guy and deal with management
they know the exact $ amount they need to close the deal and make a profit.
I always get the vin # and have the bank car buying service dictate the true value + any extras I need ( ranch hand , gooseneck, ect)
+ I have never not had a dealership not willing to deliver and pickup my trade in @ my house or office

sales people are the lowest person on the totem pole and imo only are the flunky standing between you and the shot caller

Supposedly the email was going to the manager to the Customer Relations Assistant. So we will see and also according to the review it was replied by the owner.
Maybe tomorrow someone else will say something to me.

Those letters can work. I had cedar park Toyota “give” me a set of wheels and tires (that they promised anyway but failed to deliver) after I bbq’ed their asz on Yelp

I hope so. I would say if they fixed it and made it right I would feel better and say they made it right.

We tried dealing with them before. I was looking for a no frills 3500 Duramax with a manual 4 wd shifter. Sales guy in “Robtown” tried telling us they didn’t make those anymore and tried talking us into an upgraded model.

While I was haggling with this clown my wife was researching trucks in nearby towns on her phone. She found an entire fleet of trucks that we were looking for in Alice. When I asked the guy about them not making a manual 4wd shifter anymore he knew he was done for. Said they actually do carry those but they were all in San Antonio and we would pay a delivery fee. Pretty much told that bold faced layer to kick sand. We made the short drive over to Alice and told the salesperson exactly what we were looking for. He said two words “follow me”.

All I had to do was pick a color. Sat down and made the deal. Unlike throwing in all the warranties and other add on junk they started giving us options and discounts. Discounts for being a CO-OP member, Texas Farm Bureau member and an energy sector discount since I worked in energy. This reduced the price by a few grand after what I thought was all ready a fair price.

Beckin Masterson Chevrolet/GMC are a bunch of thieves.

Makes you wonder why would anyone want to sell cars.Trying to cheat people and punched and kicked every day. They must get great satisfaction when they really get over on someone that thinks there getting a good deal.

I live in the Corpus area and my last 4 vehicles I have purchased in either San Antonio or Houston. The CC area, Robstown included, prices are always off and dealer added accessories are ridiculous!
