    It's always the new guys....

I have a 300 acre timber company lease that is about a mile from my house that I have had for about 15 years. I have two other timber company leases along with this one in Nacogdoches county. When I got the bigger Nac lease about five years ago I quit hunting the 300 acre lease so I opened my spot up for someone else to lease. This past year, I had two spots open up on this lease so a couple of young fellas that are local got on- they are neighbors with each other. Got a text from one of them yesterday saying he had some success late Thursday afternoon. Now remember, there are no deer in east Texas and timber company leases are crap due to poachers and theft.....

Sometimes the new guys hunt more often, longer and later
                maybe they try new ideas.

I always loved the first couple years on a new lease. Such a fun adventure exploring new land
Now I love sleeping at home at being in my blind in less than 20 minutes

Several tine I have seen a new guy getxon a lease. He gets the area noone wanted since he has Iast pic . Then it turns out there were big bucks there because the nature deer knew noone hunted there.

There is a Tbher that got on a big lease a few years ago and took a bad pasture while he waited for a better one to come open . Put out big piles of corn where there were no stands.. killed a 173 and 176 in consecutive hunts.
