    Memory Hunt

My Dad passed away right before Thanksgiving. He was a great man who taught me about Jesus. I had his old 30-30 and took to the woods. I’m not nearly as mad at the deer these days but holding that old gun just seemed right and when this ole gal showed up it was nostalgic. She ran about 30 yards and died in sight. Spent the rest of the morning watching several other doe and a decent 8 and just enjoyed the morning. I don’t know if old lever guns are that cool or if I was just missing Dad but it was a great hunt.

Old lever guns are that cool! Even more so that it was your Dad’s. Congrats on the meat.

Sorry about your loss. Hunting with guns that have a sentimental meaning brings any hunt to a whole new level in my opinion. Congrats on putting meat in the freezer.

OP, sorry for your loss. You are absolutely right about the old family guns. Putting them to use in the field is a great way to honor those who have passed. Congrats on the harvest.

Sorry to hear of your loss, I'm grieving as well so I feel your pain. Lost my grandparents and life just isn't the same anymore.

Nice harvest, I'm sure he's proud.
