    Kahr single hot?

Broke out my new Kahr PM9 today. First 50ish shot went ok with only an occasional hang up, I thought no big deal as they are supposed to take some shooting to break in.

Trouble is it got worse instead of better. By the time I finished the round break ins it averaged only one good cycle per clip, the rest. I had to hit the back of the slide to make it close.

I love the way it shoots, I shot a CHL Qualifying round with a softball size hole on the X with 5-6 fliers to the edge of the 8 ring but I had to do it single action since the gun would not cycle.

    Anyone else had this issue?

No but it probably just needs to be stripped, cleaned and lubed.

In autos, many FTF's can be attributed to ammo or mag. A good cleaning wouldn't hurt anything. Try different ammo and mag when you get a chance.

I'm not a pistola guy, but that does not sound right at all for a Kahr. I would contact Kahr and see what they say.

My son bought a brand new 9mm Kahr for a carry gun. It was horrible. Never jammed but we couldn't keep it on a #2 washtub at 15 yards shooting freehand. I first thought it was just me, but then I picked up his Kimber compact 45 and shot very well from the same distance. Tried the Kahr again, and it was all over the place. He sold the Kahr shortly after that.

The follower in the clip is known to cause this. Call Kahr....

It has been shot dry, lubed, over lubed, cleaned, and everything in between.

              I got a Dud...

                Sounds like a clip issue.

No, slide is hanging to the back, it won't even release after empty without a whack!

Mine got progressively worse at not going fully into battery for the first 50 rounds as it got dirty. After a good cleaning and lube and another 50 rounds it has never done it since.

I have owned a total of three Kahr PM9s. None of them ever gave me an issue. Kahr won't even talk to you until you have completed the 200 round break in period. It sounds like you have done this. It appears you have a mechanical issue that needs fixing.

Call Kahr and tell them what is happening. They will take care of you from what I have read on other forums.

Sorry you got a dud. It happens with all brands and models. I have had to even send back a Smith J-frame for cylinder lock.

Ive heard they break in really good at around 400 rounds. Supposedly kahrs are built to super tight tolerances. Id clean it real good and keep shooting.

This is the exact problem I have heard of with the polymer gripped Kahrs. It may have a problem but if you have not done it, make sure that when you shoot it, you have a real firm grip. I've heard alot of the problems come from a loose grip. It kind of hampers the slides travel and can cause jams. The all steel versions don't have quite the issues with this simply because of the added mass.

Kahr makes a great gun so if there is actually a mechanical problem, I'm sure they will take care of it.

check out kahrtalk forum. they can answer your questions there. I bought a new to me pm9 two weeks ago. I put 100 rounds through it at the range and the slide failed to lock back twice upon emptying the clip. Not sure, but I may have been touching the slide release lever with my finger, not so used to a small frame gun. This gun was just broke in but the guy never cleaned it. I have now cleaned and lubed it according to theri reccomendations and look forward to seeing if I have isolated the problem.
