    Carnes Packaging White House

Wound up getting lucky on a quick Turkey Day hunt and dropped off a deer with Carnes Packaging and Country Store in Whitehouse.

Anybody have any feedback on them? Hoping for the best but you never know with a new place.

Wife, dog, and deer, and a cool mount at Carnes

I used them last year on a buck I killed. I was pleased with the processing of my deer. They vacuum sealed all the steaks. I assume they are under new ownership as the name has changed. I have a buddy of mine planning to use them soon on a doe hunt he plans to have his deer processed there as well.

They are TFB Processing now. Never had an animal done there but have been there several times. They seem to be quality, and i was impressed with the cleanliness.
If i were to take one local, that is where i would go.

Had a beef done there about a year ago. Very pleased.

I have always heard good things about them and since I pass them to and from the lease, I decided to take 2 doe to them last year.

I will go back to using Cherokee Deer Processing in Maydelle that is WAY out of the way.

Parents picked up the meat and it's in their freezer waiting to make it's way here... but $300 for 1 deer and they told my parents they didn't keep the ribs, that I specifically requested they cut and package, because "there was dirt on them." Which is BS. Parents also said there wasn't as much meat as they expected. Again I haven't seen it yet but they are used to W Texas skinny deer and this was a *big* OK farm-fed deer - easily the 2nd largest I've ever shot. So far not impressed. Will try to update once I see how much meat I actually got, how it's packaged, and how it tastes.

I live a few miles from there and was wondering about that place.

I used them a few times when they were Carnes and they were good and if you had just basic processing done without a bunch of links or jerky they were pretty cheap. I have not used them since the name changed.

cherokee processing that JLinville mentioned has excellent jalape?o cheese snack sticks and summer sausage!
