Nook Color v. Kindle Fire

I'm looking into getting one of these. What are the differences between the two? They seem very similar to me...

Bought my wife the kindle fire and she loves it. Only problem, Wifi wont work. If you google the problem, there are thousands of reports and blogs about this issue. We have tried everything from resetting the router to downloading the newest update and patches.

I bought my wife a Kindle and my step mom has a Nook, The Kindle loads whatever, books or magazines, with no problems. The Nook that my step mom has NEVER works!!! Ive told her to sale that thing and get herself a Kindle. My .02!!

Kindle for movies, music, etc. Got my wife one for Christmas and no problems at all. Works find with our wifi and she loves it.

I am wanting one mainly for book reading. Probably won't watch movie on it often nor listen to music.

I've used both and prefer the Kindle. However, it's really a toss up on which one is really better. There's more opinion than anything.

Also, I think more people lean towards the Kindle as it's backed by Amazon rather than the Nook being with Barnes & Noble. Books stores as of lately have not performed very well financially; i.e. Borders, etc.

I have the kindle fire. I am using right now to post this reply. I got it for Christmas and have zero problems. Just make sure you turn off accelerated page loading to make the browsers much faster. I use it álso to watch Netflix or listen to Pandora while on the treadmill at the gym. Play games on it and sometimes read. Amazon has more reading materials than B&N. Also get free movies from Amazon if a prime member. Go with the Fire. You want regret it.

we have 2 k fires and an iPad. the kids love their fires. the iPad is cool too. no problems out of either. the iPad is bigger. the fire is cheaper. friend of ours has a nook. says she wishes she had a fire.
